

Marilyn Davis, age 82, went home to the Lord on Sunday, January 18th. She was born in Orange, NJ but lived most of her life at the Jersey Shore. She attended Toms River High School, class of '50, as well as Ocean County College and Trenton State College where she earned her Teaching degree. She taught in the Toms River School system, mainly at Cedar Grove Elementary, grade 4. She also co-owned Fugazy Travel for 20 years and went on many coveted adventures. She co-founded Open Arms, a charitable organization that raises money for great needs in the Toms River community. She was a devout Catholic, serving as an extraordinary minister for many years, as well as teaching CCD, and supporting her parish of St. Joseph's in Toms River. She loved her monthly luncheons with her dear friends as well as playing Bridge.
She is survived by four daughters, Nancy and Tony Lorenzo (Beachwood), Patty and Larry Belluscio (Canton, OH), Barbara Davis (Toms River), Joanne and Gary Rice (Stuart, FL); as well as 9 loving grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was anticipating the arrival of her 15th great grandchild in March as well as her 1st great great grandchild in May. Words cannot describe what Marilyn has meant to her family and her friends. If one measures wealth by the love, she was the wealthiest. Marilyn spoke her mind truthfully!! Good or Bad!! She loved to the bottom of her soul and could not wait to go home to be with her Lord. Visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2015, from 2-4, 7-9 at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. A funeral mass to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held 11 am, Saturday at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 685 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Cremation will follow.
