Mary Malfa

Mary was born on January 26, 1919 and raised in New York City, moved to Brooklyn in 1950 & resided there for forty years with her husband Joe and their four children. She moved to Brick NJ in 1997 and then lived for two years in Roselle Park NJ in 2010. She spent the last five years living in Berkeley Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mary was a professional seamstress as well as a great cook and gifted baker. She always told her story of how she waited 10 years to have children and how God answered her prayers. She was known for her fun-loving spirit and wit!

Mary was predeceased by her son, Joseph in 2015, husband, Joseph in 1999, and her parents, Filadelphio and Rosalie DiVitale. Surviving are her children: Fred Malfa of Suffern NY, Rosemary Carpeneto of Manchester NJ, and Theresa Macari of Roselle Park NJ. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Jordan Malfa, Jennifer, Laura, & Danielle Carpeneto, Jessica & Natalie Macari, Madison & Selena Malfa, and two great-grandchildren, Sammy & Jeremy Malfa.

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755. Interment will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood with graveside services at 11:30 AM.
