

He was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of West Chester University in West Chester Penn. class of 2010. While there, he was President of the first on campus chapter of Psi Chi the International Honor Society of Psychology. He was a talented ice hockey player, a prolific writer and an avid music lover. He was a self-taught web designer and an awesome barista who greeted folks by name.
He had a host of friends who have shared stories of the personal impact Matthew's presence had in their lives.
Matthew is survived by his son, Vincent Stirling DeLuca; his loving father, Vincent DeLuca of Oaklyn, NJ; his loving brother, Colin DeLuca of Oaklyn, NJ; and his loving mother, Trish DeLuca of Manahawkin, NJ. He is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom share in the deep grief from this sudden and tragic loss.
In the coming weeks the family will be hosting a Celebration of Matt's Life. Notice and open invitation will be posted as soon as plans are finalized. Notice will include a GoFundMe link to assist the family with final costs and continued advocacy for the availability of longer term treatment of addiction and to shine a brighter light on the mass incarceration of people creating the dual stigma of incarceration and addiction.
