After beginning work as a young teenager and spending many years working as a police officer, life eventually led him to his job at JLK Automotive as an auto mechanic, working for the Riccardi family, who were like a second family to him. Matthew loved to learn how things worked and always said that if you figured out how something works, you can always fix it. This desire to understand the inner workings of all things truly made him a master of his craft, and conquering the most challenging jobs was his life’s passion. But where he excelled the most was in being a devoted husband to his wife Erin, and father to his three young children. Matthew and Erin were married on March 1st, 2013 and their love was the kind that really makes you believe in soulmates. His love for her was a shining light to all those who were lucky enough to witness it. He enjoyed doing art and science projects, wrestling, and laughing with his beloved sons Johnathan and Alexander. His daughter Leah stole his heart the moment she was born and was the light of his life. His most cherished moments were quiet days and nights spent home with his little family.
Matthew was known for always being willing to help out anyone. His booming personality, funny one-liners and catch phrases, and ability to talk to anyone and make them laugh are the things for which he will always be remembered. He loved to be around family and friends and really looked forward to events, from just hanging out by a pool with friends, graduation parties or 4th of July parties, to weddings. He was so full of love it poured out of him in every way and he had a way of making everyone he talked to feel like family.
Matthew was predeceased by his loving mother Laura Moore. He’s survived by his beloved wife Erin; his three children, Johnathan, Alexander and Leah; and his father Terrance Moore and his wife Brenda. He’s also survived by his brother Ryan, and his wife Andrea. In addition to his immediate family, Matthew leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who he loved and held close to his heart.
There are no words for the ways Matthew will be missed. His loss is the kind that is felt so deeply because he truly touched everyone who met him. His memory will live on in the love he had for his wife and his 3 beautiful children, who will always be reminded of the unconditional love their father had for them.
