Born in Perth Amboy, NJ to Dorothy and Fredrick Boeddinghaus, she grew up in Edison, NJ, a proud member of the first graduating class of John P. Stevens High School. She lived all of her life in New Jersey, settling in Edgewater Park in 1985.
Calm and stoic, Nancy had a deceptively sharp wit and would often break into a conversation with a zinger or two. She loved long car rides with her late adoring husband Joseph, singing along to the radio, and exploring antique shops and restaurants along the way. She also loved to read and passed that love, along with her wit, to her daughters whom she raised with patience and delight.
When her daughters went to school, Nancy worked as a secretary or receptionist at various companies, but her absolute favorite job was being a senior library assistant at the Cinnaminson branch of the Burlington County library for 25 years. There she indulged her love of books, made many friends, and came home with many stories of the library's programs and patrons.
Nancy is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph and her parents Dorothy and Fredrick. She is survived by her daughters Kelly Brandi and Kathryn Schab, granddaughter Alexis, grandson Nicholas, sisters Virginia and Wendy, and her loving extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at Horizon Funeral Home 1329 NJ-37, Toms River, NJ on Saturday, September 20 between 1pm-5pm. Family, friends, and colleagues are invited to attend and share stories and memories.
Committal service will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ on Wednesday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. The Schab family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the community for the outpouring of support during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy's honor to the American Library Association at ec.ala.org/donate
