Patricia K. Teresak

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” K. Teresak (Smalley) on August 31, 2025, at Sunrise Senior Living in Jackson, New Jersey, surrounded by her devoted family in her final days.

Patricia was born in Jersey City, NJ, on November 25, 1938, and grew up in South Bound Brook, NJ. She lived in Raritan and Bridgewater, NJ, with her husband Robert “Bob” S. Teresak Sr., the love of her life, whom she married on April 28, 1956. Bob and Pat moved to Silver Beach, NJ, in 1979 and then settled in Island Heights, NJ, where they lived for 30 years.

Pat touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her friendly, warm and generous spirit will be remembered forever. Holidays were her favorite time of the year, especially Christmas, where she could decorate, feed, and spoil her family. She also loved watching sports on TV and cheering (screaming) for her favorite team, the NY Giants. Pat and Bob enjoyed boating and traveling, with favorite destinations being Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and California. They had a way of making friends with anyone they met, especially the waitstaff at restaurants they frequented.

Before moving down the shore, Patricia was employed by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Division in Bridgewater, NJ, for 14 years and was Shop Steward when she left. She also helped her husband Bob run his construction business, Mr. T. Builders, which gave her the idea of going into real estate, becoming a sales associate for Weichert Realtors in Lavallette, NJ, in 1985. She then joined Childers Sotheby’s International Realty, formerly Childers Real Estate, in Normandy Beach, NJ, in 1999. Pat loved working in real estate and took great pride in it. If she had a chance, she would try to sell you a home. Real estate allowed her to experience many of the things she loved, including meeting new people and gathering inspiration for beautiful homes. Pat loved shopping, especially buying gifts for her loved ones, indulging in self-care, and enjoying long lunches or dinners that always included coffee and dessert.

Patricia was a proud and loving mother to her three children. She is survived by son Robert Teresak Jr. and wife Annamarie Frezza, daughter Lynn Schade and husband Michael, and daughter Dena Pollaro and husband Nick. She was also a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren, Michael Schade and wife Stephanie, Brady Schade and wife Kat Roth, Krista Teresak and husband Kyle O'Connell, Tarryn Teresak and husband Eric Zeimetz, Troy Teresak and wife Anna Orrit Garcia, Cory Schade and fiancé Robyn Pheasant, Jarod Pollaro and Jessica Pollaro. She was especially excited about her four great-grandchildren, Michael, Samantha and Mason Schade, and Beckett Teresak-Zeimetz. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Fazio and husband Steve, and many nieces and nephews. Patricia is predeceased by her husband Robert, who passed in April 2022, her mother Gladys Smalley and stepfather Gustav Smalley.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Patricia’s name.

Patricia's memorial service will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, with a repast to follow at Villa Amalfi, 1006 Route 166, Toms River, NJ.
