

He was born and raised in Passaic, NJ and spent many happy days with the family at their farm in Hopatcong, NJ. He lived in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ for close to 30 years before moving to the Carefree section of Holiday City, Toms River, 20 years ago.
Paul was a graduate of Passaic High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from William Paterson College. He started his career working as a loan officer in the banking industry for several years after which he was self employed as an automobile exporter, and later, a real estate investor, something he truly loved.
He enjoyed life at the Jersey Shore, especially long walks on the Spring Lake and Lavalette boardwalks. Members of his community will remember seeing him walk the streets with his wife and dog, always stopping to chat with neighbors. He was a great storyteller and loved to laugh.
Paul was a kind and loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. He was fiercely protective of his family, always ready to help or give advice. He was a great friend to many and his presence will be greatly missed.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Paul Sr. and Jane (Rapp) Dericks. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Melinda (Maiorana) Dericks; three brothers: Michael (Diane) of Bradley Beach, NJ, James (Patricia) of Hazlet, NJ , John of Mandeville, Louisiana; three sisters: Jane (Michael) Kurek of Morristown, NJ, Mary Barrett of West Milford, NJ, Patricia (John) Bottiglieri of Fountainville, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law Lori (Richard) Crouch of North Brunswick, NJ; many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much and his canine companion Brody.
The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Paul's name.
A visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, located at 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, on February 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and February 21, 2026, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, located at 130 St Maximilian Ln, Toms River, NJ 08757, on February 21, 2026, from 10:00 am.
