

Born in Manila, Philippines, Philip was an insurance agent for Sun Life of Canada and Manulife Insurance. He retired in 1998 and relocated to the Unites States in 2015, settling in the Toms River area. He was a member and past president of the Mt. Apo Lion's Club in the Philippines where he was heavily involved in social and civic activities. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, playing tennis, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Bianca.
He was predeceased by his parents Carlos and Virginia Ongkiko. Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Carmelita Ongkiko (nee Cordero); children Cristina De Jesus and her husband Gerardo, Michelle Ongkiko and Romano Ongkiko; granddaughter Kristen Aira De Jesus; siblings Ophelia Ponce De Leon, Dr. Carlos Ongkiko, Marissa Lupori, Pamela Ongkiko, Oscar Ongkiko,
Merian Gregorio and Wistrimundo Gregorio and many long nieces and nephews.
Cremation was private and entrusted to Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A memorial mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ (Berkeley Township), on June 21, 2018
at 11:30 AM and on June 25, 2018 in Davao, Philippines.
