Rebecca Sobrado

Rebecca “DJ DATGIRL” Sobrado, 49, of Toms River, passed away on March 3, 2020 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was a longtime resident of New Jersey. Rebecca loved music so much she began a career as a DJ, known to many as “DJ Datgirl”. For over 30 years she enjoyed playing music to audiences in South Jersey area clubs.

She was an amazing cook, she could whip up a delicious meal in no time. This is how she showed her love to her family and friends. Rebecca will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Let’s always remember Beck at 4:20… her very favorite time.

She was predeceased by her mother Emma Martinez and her step father Ramon A. Martinez. Surviving are her sister Delilda Martinez and her husband Jose A. Aponte, a brother Victor Sobrado and his fiancé Tiffany; her daughter Alexa Serrano and grandson Esiaah; her aunts Nilda Seda, Maria Cuevas and Blanca Rothel; her cousin Neftali Seda; her loving partner Michelle Giersch and numerous uncles and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of the Life of Rebecca "DJ DATGIRL" Sobrado on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 4:20pm at the First United Church of Christ, 1681 Ridgeway Rd, Toms River, NJ 08757. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River is in charge of arrangements.
