Richard Barton Bellomy

Richard Barton Bellomy age 83 of Toms River passed away on January 17, 2016 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was surrounded by loved ones during his final days. Born in Columbus Ohio, Richard lived in Ohio and various parts of New Jersey and the country before settling in Toms River in 1970.

He was a 20-year career man in the United States Army who received a Bronze Star after serving in Vietnam, retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 1970. He later worked as a clerk at the Toms River Post Office, retiring in 1997. He is survived by his wife Adelaide of 62 years; four sons, Richard Bellomy and his wife Annmarie of Lakewood, NJ, Jeffrey Bellomy and his wife Julia of Pinellas Park, Florida, Glenn Bellomy and his wife Michele of Jackson, NJ, and Clifford Bellomy and his wife Candy of Toms River, NJ; his one daughter Sandra Franka and her husband Khaled of Toms River, NJ; one brother; Donald Bellomy of Ohio and three sisters; June Byrd of Ohio, Theresa Elliott of Ohio, and Ruthann Youseff of Texas; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 4-6PM with a service at 5:30 PM at the Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. Military honors will conclude the service.
