Richard August Plumacher Jr.

Born in Newark to Richard August Plumacher Sr. and Saddie Mackey, Richard lived a life centered on love, family, and devotion to those closest to him. He shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joyce, and together they raised their daughter, Patricia.

Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He especially cherished time spent with his family and loved gathering together to create lasting memories. He also enjoyed watching football and cheering on his favorite teams. His great-granddaughter, Elle Byrnes, was truly the apple of his eye and brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard August Plumacher Sr. and Saddie Mackey; his mother-in-law, Irma Ward; his sisters, Florence, Millie, Emily, Dorothy, and Saddie; and his brothers, Frankie, Freddie, and David.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; brother Robert Plumacher, brother in law and sister-in-law, Robert and Tammy Ward; daughter, Patricia, and her husband, Richard Kurtz; grandchildren, Alyssa and her husband, Chris Byrnes, Ryan and his wife, Christina Kurtz; and cherished great-granddaughter, Elle Byrnes; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Richard will be remembered for his love of family, his warm heart, and the many happy moments he shared with those he loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
