Bob was born on January 16, 1946 to Edward and Anna M. Lake, and was raised on Staten Island, NY. After graduating from Tottenville High School, Bob served time in the U.S. Army. Around 1965, the Lake Family relocated to Brick, NJ. Bob moved around NJ a bit, but settled back in Brick in his late 20’s and remained there ever since.
Bob had a profound love for fishing. Whether competing in tournaments or sharing fishing tales with friends, he found solace and happiness on the water. His enthusiasm for fishing was infectious, and he often shared his knowledge and passion with those around him. He was a proud member of the Jersey Coast Anglers and the Manasquan River Marlin and Tuna Club. In addition to his love for fishing, Bob inherited the gift of woodworking from his father, and like him, built his own boat which was his pride and joy.
Surviving Bob are his daughter, Kimberly Anne (Lake) Mrvica, son-in-law Michael Mrvica, and his three grandchildren, Anna, Kate and Michael Mrvica. Bob is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Thomas Smith, and his brother and sister-in-law, James and Kate Lake, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Prayer Service at 11:00 am at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park.
May Bob rest in eternal peace, forever fishing in the tranquil waters of heaven.
