Robert Alan Pastena

Robert Pastena, 75, of Manchester, passed peacefully with his daughters Andrea and Joann by his side, and then was greeted at the gates of heaven by his wife, Maria, and son, Robert, on the 19th of July 2025.

Robert was born in Newark, New Jersey, on October 22, 1949. He attended Woodbridge High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1968. Robert went on to fight in Vietnam on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. After his service in the Navy, he returned home and began his family and worked in various fields, including real estate and photography. He also attended AMI in 1993 and graduated as a certified Harley Davidson Mechanic. Robert was a hardworking and dedicated employee at Century Carpet Inc. for 30+ years.

While on leave from the Navy in 1970, Robert was set up on a blind date with the love of his life, Maria. Shortly after they were married and began their family in Colonia, New Jersey. Robert and Maria welcomed their daughter Andrea in 1973, son Robert in 1977, and daughter Joann in 1978.

Robert was passionate about many outdoor activities, including fishing, golfing, hunting, and spending time at the gun range. He also had a love for music, spending many years as a drummer in a band. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially for Sunday dinners.

Robert was predeceased by his wife Maria, son Robert, parents Joseph and Mae, and brother Joseph. Robert is survived by daughters Andrea and Joann, son-in-law Larry, and his 6 grandchildren Christopher, Angelina, Alyssa, Brianna, Damien and Antionette. He is also survived by his brother Thomas, and sister Arlene, followed by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
