

Robert J. Pelican, 65, of Toms River passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at home. Born in Edison, he lived with his family in many locations (as his father was in the US Air Force), attending high school in Italy, and later moved back to Edison where he married and had three children before moving to Toms River in 2017.
Mr. Pelican was a self-employed executive supply chain consultant for 30 years, retiring in 2017. He will always be remembered as a soccer coach, a challenging chess player, a great chef, a loving fiancé and an amazing dad.
He was a member of the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management, National Contract Management Association, American Production and Inventory Control Society, Sons of American Legion in Clark, Rahway and Ocean County Harley Davidson Motorcycle Clubs.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Ludwinski and her husband Steven of Matawan, David Pelican of Matawan, and FCA3 Casey Pelican, stationed aboard the USS Princeton, San Diego, CA; his mother, Dorothy Pelican of Boise, ID; his siblings, Kathy Haneke and her husband George of Wilder, ID, Terri Jo Montgomery of Boise, ID and Kenny Pelican and his wife Cookie of Lanoka Harbor; and his fiancé, Cammie Krzeszewski.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. Services will be Friday at 10:30-11:30 am at the funeral home, with interment following at Cloverleaf Cemetery, Woodbridge.
