Robert "Sandy" Ewing Sanders

Robert “Sandy” Ewing Sanders, 68, of Toms River, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he graduated from Del Ray HS in 1965 and from Brookdale in 1976. He lived in Laurence Harbor before moving to Toms River 36 years ago. Sandy served in the US Army for 2 years. He worked for Fragrance Resources in Keyport for 37 years, retiring as Production Manager. Sandy enjoyed gardening, hunting, complaining, fishing, & traveling. He loved spending time with family, going to Atlantic City with his wife and texting with his family. Sandy also was a dedicated Cub Scout leader.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Ruthie (Pierce) Sanders; his children Debra (Tim) Schwind, Meridith (Greg) Pooler and Robert “Bear” (Kelly L.) Sanders; his grandchildren Eric & Erin Cullen, Bailey & RJ Sanders, Noah, Jillian & Jacob Pooler, Abigail & Charlie Demeraski; and his loyal cat Maddie; his parents Robert and Catherine Sanders; brother Jim (Shirley) Sanders; his sister Adelaide (Tom) Monterastelli. He was predeceased by his sister Robin, his dog Lady, cat Misty and chicken, Nugget.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mahmood, Dr. Argawal, and Compassionate Care Hospice for all their help and support.

Private services will be held to honor the life of Sandy. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Sandy to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation(www.cchfoundation.net)
