Robert F Sherkness

Robert F Sherkness, age 73, of Forked River, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. He was born in Perth Amboy and grew up in Edison, NJ and was a graduate of John P. Stevens H.S. and The College of New Jersey. The past 34 years he resided in Tinton Falls, Brick and Forked River. He was an avid lifelong New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. Also enjoyed an occasional game of golf with friends and business associates. Bob had a passion for fast cars and classic muscle cars from the 60's and 70's, loved attending rock concerts with the Rolling Stones being his favorite(3 times) as well as Fleetwood Mac and Steve Miller Band. He also liked to dance "The Hustle" and free style.

He was a Business Development Manager for Glacial Energy for several years and eventually became a self-employed agent/broker in the energy arena. Spent his entire career in professional sales and worked in the Energy, Financial Services, Telecom and Business Equipment field. He loved the challenge of selling and developing business relationships. He was also a member of several business groups.

Bob was an advocate for animal rights and care, actively donated to several humane societies and animal shelters locally and nationally.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Anne (Proskura), his loving wife Carole, of 29 years in 2014. He is survived by his companion, Marta Estaban and many friends.

A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A service will occur Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A burial will follow Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
