

Born in Kenilworth, she lived there and in Colonia for many years before moving to Waretown in 1991.
She later lived in Brick and Plainfield before moving to Toms River in 2010.
Prior to leaving to raise her children, Ruth was a bank teller and supervisor for banks in Union County for several years.
After her children were grown, she obtained her real estate license, and was employed by Schlott Realtors in Colonia.
She was a member of New Dover United Methodist Church, Colonia, and was involved with "Women Helping Women" at the church.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Yvonne, in 2009.
Surviving are her sons, George of Toms River, and Scott and his husband Michael Powers of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; a granddaughter, Nicole Powers of Toms River; three sisters, Irma George of Summit, Doris Shallcross of Haydensville, MA, and Jean Svoboda of Bradenton, FL; and 7 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday from 1-3 at the Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
Funeral service will be held at 2:45 pm at the funeral home.
