Sara "Sally" J. Power

Sara (“Sally”) J. Power, 68 years old, of Bryn Mawr, PA and Island Heights, NJ, passed

away suddenly on 08/22/2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, in 1955 to Richard W. Power and Laura L. Power (née

Pillion). Sally graduated from Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr, PA, and Centenary

College in Hackettstown, NJ. Sally was employed by the University of Pennsylvania,

Swarthmore College, and, most recently, Haverford Township Parks and Recreation.

Sally was an avid animal lover and devoted much of her time to volunteer work,

including numerous animal shelters and the Philadelphia Zoo, as well as Surrey Senior

Services. Sally was a lifelong member of the Island Heights Yacht Club. She loved

sailing on the Barnegat Bay, long walks with her husband and many dogs, and, most of

all, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She always took the time to

celebrate life. Sally will be missed every day. She will be remembered dearly for her

bright colors and warm personality, smiling and making others smile! Sally could talk to

anyone and made friends everywhere she went. To know Sally was to love Sally.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Power and Laura Power, and is

survived by her husband, Lawrence Woods, and siblings, Laura (William) Conlin and

Richard (Jean) Power, along with many loving family members and friends.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a funeral mass at St. Gertrude Catholic Church,

located at 103 Central Ave, Island Heights, NJ, 08732, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday,

08/28/2024. To honor Sally’s memory, feel free to be colorful in your dress.
