Selma Salma, age 97, of Toms River, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday, May 17, surrounded by her loved ones. Selma was born in NYC, the youngest of nine children to immigrant parents Dora & Wolf Hertz Oltarsh. She moved to NJ in the late 40's. Selma went on her first cruise for her 90th birthday and never left the casino. She loved Atlantic city as much as she loved everyone she knew or just met. Her favorite words were " I love you and give me a kiss". She will be missed deeply but forever embedded in our hearts.
Predeceased by her husband Salvatore, she is survived by her loving children: William Aronstam of Brooklyn, NY, Rosalind Spence Nakach of Whiting, Susan Mezzasalma & Joan Salma of Toms River and Ronald Salma of Whiting. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Susan Moore & husband Patrick, Kristin Spence, Aaron, Kimberly and Victoria Salma; three great grandchildren Leeann, Billy and Patrick. We would like to thank her caregiver of two years Jean Dunn and Vitas Hospice for their kindness and care. Selma was a Loving Mother, enjoyed her pets over the last few years, Snookie, Smokey, Taj, Caz & Ashley. Visiting will be Friday, 10:00 a.m until the funeral service at 11:45 a.m. at the Anderson & Campbell F.H. 703 Main St. Toms River. In lieu of flowers, because of her amazing love of animals (she always said; if someone doesn't like animals, do not trust them) donations to Popcorn Park would be greatly appreciated.
