Shannon R. Edson

Shannon Edson, age 50, of South Toms River passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and loved ones at Community Medical Center on October 3, 2021. Shannon was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. She previously resided in Woodland Park, NJ before moving to South Toms River.

Shannon was predeceased by her beloved mother, Robin Morgan and by her grandparents, George and Margaret Morgan. She is survived by her son Sean Edson; her father George Morgan; his wife Patricia; life partner and companion William Mott; her siblings and their spouses Colin Cook, Scott and Stephanie Walcott, Jeannie and Thomas Barden, Megan and Steven Robinson, Rebecca and Daniel Perkins, Robert Cahill and his fiancé Alan Kuatt.

Shannon’s main joy in life was spending time with her loved ones and most treasured time was spent with her son Sean, nieces Shaylyn, Summer, Christina, Madison, Skylar, Peyton, and Emi, and her nephews Joshua, Gabe, Nate, Parker, John Paul, and Ethan.  Anyone who spent any time with Shannon knew she LOVED music, and Doo-wop’s were her passion. She could turn absolutely anything into a microphone and sing to her heart’s content. Shannon was the matriarch of her family, she held everyone together and she will be forever missed.

Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, October 10 at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Rt 37W, Toms River, NJ from 1PM - 5PM. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the family @ https://gofund.me/c3fb8663
