

Stanley C. Farrington, 85, of Toms River, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at home peacefully. Born on December 12, 1926 in Irvington, N.J., he lived in Beachwood before moving to Toms River 42 years ago. Stanley graduated from N. Arlington High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WW II, proudly serving from 1944 to 1946. Stanley owned and operated Sinclair Service Station for 20 years and then worked for Dover (Toms River) Township for 20 years. He was a charter member of Lanoka Harbor Volunteer Fire Co. and a member and exempt member of Beachwood Volunteer Fire Co. Stanley enjoyed many years fishing from his boats; all named "The Sheri Jill". He was an avid toy train collector and belonged to the "Train Collectors Association". Stanley was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River.
He is survived by his devoted wife Mary Lou; two daughters Sheri F. German and her husband Andy and Jill Carney and her husband Rob; a son George and his wife Andrea; 5 grandchildren Jenn, Scotty, Michael, David and Courtney; one sister Florence Werdann; his special cousin Anne L. Camp and other cousins, nieces, nephews and an uncle.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Interment will be private. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Presbyterian Church of Toms River Music Department or Van Dyke Hospice, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755 in Stanley's memory.
