

Sydney F. Impal, age 83, of Manahawkin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Southern Ocean Nursing & Rehab, Manahawkin, NJ. Born and raised in Jersey City, Sydney lived in Wood-Ridge, before moving to Manahawkin, NJ, in 2003. Sydney was a Pharmacist and owned and operated Colonial Drugs, Little Ferry, NJ, for many years until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Sydney was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Marie in 2013. Surviving are his children: Donna Atchley, Seattle, WA; Glenn Impal and his wife Marianne, Doylestown, PA; and Diane Stavalo and her husband Domenick, Lanoka Harbor. He is also survived by four loving grandchildren: Rene, Nicole, Julia and Gina. A funeral Mass to celebrate Sydney's life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, 11 AM at St. Pius X R.C. Church, 300 Lacey Rd., Forked River. After a private cremation, Sydney will be laid to rest with his wife Marie at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Mem. Cemetery, Wrightstown.
