Dori Olsen missed her 101st birthday by twelve days......but what she lived through during her 100 years was truly amazing! When Dori began her life, the Spanish Flu was fading; as her life was ending,Dori lived with the Corona Virus raging. Dori often talked about her father delivering milk to his customers driving a horse-drawn milk truck. She spoke of the Great Depression and the breadlines, the Hindenburg explosion, and Pearl Harbor..... Dori loved music, played piano and met her husband, Ed, at a square-dance! Dori and Ed started their life together during WWII when Ed was drafted into the Army Air Force. Dori experienced Elvis, rock ‘n roll, the Beatles, but didn’t care much about Woodstock. Then came the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War and the protests, assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK, the first moon landing, the invention of DNA, Apple and Mac, and the shocking Challenger Disaster........ the Clinton scandals, Waco, Y2K, and OJ, and the turn of a century! Then 9/11......the War on Terror and the Wallstreet Collapse. Hurricane Sandy and the Trump election, and now, the Corona Virus Pandemic. After a fall, Dori spent her final forty-seven days in the hospital and rehab with NO visitors due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Her daughters were finally able to visit a few hours before she passed. At Dori’s request, there will be no funeral services and the burial will be private.
