

Thomas Cartwright, 58, of Toms River died suddenly May 16, 2024 in his home. He was born and raised in Toms River graduating from Toms River High School South. After high school, he went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from Cook College, Rutgers University.
Tom worked his early years for Prudential Insurance Company, and later worked for several years for MHR and Medicentrix. He enjoyed his work, and those he worked with he considered part of his family.
Although his life was short, Tom lived a full life. He knew how to have fun, laugh, and make others laugh as well. He loved a good party and mostly loved celebrating with his dearest friends on his deck. His passion in life revolved around his boys, Louie and Jupiter, his birds, and his flowers and gardens.
Tom is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Catherine, his sister Margaret (Peggy) Moncrief and his niece Corrine Webb. He is survived by his sister Catherine Osborne and her husband Robert, sister Nancy Webb and her husband Ronald, nieces Alyssa Webb, Melissa Moncrief, and Karie Moncrief, and nephew Aaron Moncrief.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 28, at 11:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave. Toms River. A private committal service will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice in Tom’s memory.
