Veronica Lynn Tompkins

Ronnie was born July 17th, 1950 in Hanover NJ to Gertrude and Lloyd Lorenz.

She resided in Toms River most of her life and began her 20+ year career at Reynolds department store as a manager and then buyer. Always beautifully dressed, with her personal classy style and ready to put in a long work day. She then went on to work as a manager at A.C. Moore for over 10 years before retiring from the Ocean County Planning Department of 17 years. She was a mother figure and mentor watching out for everyone. She truly loved her coworkers and friends she made. It’s a beautiful thing when someone finds a career that brings them purpose, passion and fulfillment. After retirement Ronnie worked part time as a receptionist at Rose Garden Nursing Home. She made so many friends with the staff and residents, all of them coming in to check on her while her brief stay there.

Ronnie is survived by her daughter Kim, grandson Erich, sisters Marie and Suzanne, nieces; Patti, Deb & Courtney and nephews; Greg, Joe & Travis. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Ashlyn and former husband Frank.

Ronnie will be remembered for her fiery spirit, strong work ethic, love, compassion and dedication for others.

A private cremation will be held in accordance with Ronnie’s wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
