

Walter Lewis Fair Sr. was born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia to the parents of Eddie Roy Fair and Betsy Louise Fair on May 12, 1941, and accepted his Heavenly assignment on November 1, 2024, in Toms River NJ.
Walter Sr. attended and graduated from the Ft. Gaines public schools’ system. He later met and married Ms. Virginia Gilbert and relocated to NJ in 1966. From this union two children were born, Walter Lewis Fair Jr., and Delores Lee Fair.
Walter Sr. was employed for more than 30 years with both the city of Newark and East Orange Schools systems where he retired as a Custodial Engineer. After retirement, he lived the remainder of day passionately serving God and spent the most of his days praying for and with anyone who just came across his mind.
Walter Sr. enjoyed spending time with his family, reading his Bible praying and attending church. He served faithfully as and Elder at True Vine Healing & Deliverance Ministry in Bayville under the leadership of his Daughter-in Love, Apostle Rhetta Jackson-Fair and son Pastor Walter Lewis Fair Jr.
Walter Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Roy and Betsy Louise Fair, his siblings Johnny Fair, Eddie Roy Fair Jr., Christine Chester, Sam C. Fair, Evelyn Fair, Roosevelt Fair, Floyd Fair, Eulistine Fair, and Eugene Fair.
He now leaves to cherish his loving memory his son Walter Lewis Fair Jr. (Rhetta Jackson-Fair), daughter Delores Fair, five (5) grandchildren, (Nadirah, Sadiq, Yasin, Tyshon and Hassan), his sister Lucy Fair and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Walter Sr. leaves a great legacy and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 11:00 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St. Toms River. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
