Happy Heavenly 80th Birthday to my Mom. 

A great lady taken from us far too soon. They say that life goes on and it certainly does, but the pain and heartbreak remain, even after coming 12 years now. 

I wish I had more time with her, I wish I could call her and see how she is and what she needed done by me. I wish I could hear her laugh. I wish I could see & hear  her sing Karaoke again, piping out Proud Mary by CCR. 

Time, it goes by so fast and before you know it you're no longer a child needing their parent. But, you wish you could still be with them even though they are gone. All you have are the memories to help rest and heal your broken heart. 

Here's to you Mom, one day we will met again and I look forward to that day in the Spirit World. 

Cheers Mom! Happy Birthday to you.

Eleven years ago today, my life changed. I received a call that my Mom had passed away. 

Anyone who ever had the good fortune of being around her, knows how great of a person she was and her kindness. 

Today is a heavy reminder that we only have so much time in this life of ours. Our time is the most precious gift we can ever give anyone.

The perpetual motion of time keeps us moving forward in life. But, today I stop time to a moment that forever changed my life, the day you took your last breathe in this world. Ten years have gone by and still hurts to not have you here. For you to enjoy your golden years, see your Grandchildren, Quinn, Megan and Cyrus growing up before your eyes. To see your "Grand Pets" as you liked to call them and the joy it brought you. 

Our lives have had to move on and I can ensure you, we have not forgotten you. We love you and all the memories you have forever given us to carry on in our own lives.

Although I didn't know you personally, I've heard wonderful memories of you over the years. You seemed like a kind and gracious woman.  May you continue to rest peacefully with the Angels.

Today eight years ago the world lost a great person, we lost you, Mom.

Your passing has caused many to shed a tear and wish you were still here with us all. Your zest for life and love for all knew no bounds. You gave both your children much strength and courage to move forward in our lives. Your three Grandchildren, Quinn, Megan, and Cyrus, have lost a tremendous loving Grandparent. But, don’t worry Mom, Erin and I will never let them forget about you. We will share with them many stories of when we were kids and all you did for us.

My own journey has seen me gain resolve to carry on through tough times over the last several years. An evolution for me to stand up for what I want in life, how I want my life to be. You gave that lesson after you were gone and still teach your kids on this day, live your life to the fullest, love and cherish one another, be grateful.

Forever and always a lady to be respected, admired and loved. Not a day goes by that I don't think about the fun and funny memories.

Seven years ago today a great woman was lost. Not a day goes by without my thoughts being with you, wishing I had more time with you. Taken far too early, this year Mom you would be 75 years young. I remember your ability to dance and loved to watch you have fun and make so many people smile with your kindness and warmth. Your Grandchildren Quinn, Megan and Cyrus, will never realize what they have lost with you gone from us. I will forever fight on to keep your name safe and never to be forgotten.

After losing you on Father's Day 2010, these other years have come and past with more sadness in the remembrance of the life changing phone call. I truly wish I could have been there with you Mom in your last moments. I am so sorry that I wasn't and wish I could turn back time and change events. 

As I move forward even today, seven years later, I still shed tears over losing you. A good Mother, who always had her children in mind first and was not a selfish person. You gave up so much for your children. I am forever in your debt and look forward to one day our sprits being re-united again. Until then Mom, your essence and spirit live on in the blood of your children, Erin & I, your Grandchildren Quinn, Megan & Cyrus. Forever and always.

A year has gone by and it still feels like yesterday when I received the call. I couldn't believe it then and I can't believe it now, I still miss my great friend, my mum. Still after all our visits to you I cry as much as I did then but the knowledge that you are whole again and in a place where you can dance and sing and be with your mum, dad, Auntie Marylou and Uncle Louis I am happy. You are free like the angel that you are. I hope you like the birdfeeder, they will bring lots of friends to visit you.

Today is a day that I drove into work in a fog. Today is the day that I reflect back to last year June 20, 2010. When the day came that I no longer had one of my parent's here. It was a hard day today to think back to last year as I wept at your resting spot. The flowers are a plenty and angels mark you space, it was difficult to leave my flowers for you and walk away, it hasn't been any easier from other times past.

I know in my heart Mom that you truly are in a better place and are at peace and in no pain. You are with family and friends who have passed before you and will greet others that are taken from this world. 

Some great times and memories from a lot of family members and friends that came to pay you their respects to a great lady that showed us all how to live. You were paid great homage and continue to hear great stories about you today.

One year has past, where has the time gone.

Words cannot adequately express the feeling of sadness at the loss of your dear Mom! I am heartbroken, as I am certain that you are, as well!

Your Mom is loved so much & will be missed by so many but none more than you! She may be gone but will never, ever be forgotten!

I have so many fond memories of times spent with Auntie Anne...One time in particular that stands out was, when I was 8 years old, way back in 1964. Auntie Anne took me to Swiss Chalet for dinner & to see the movie “Mary Poppins”. Being the oldest of (almost) five, my Mom would have been pregnant with Susan at the time. It sure was nice to have an adult all to myself! She treated me like a princess that day, giving me her undivided attention! To this day, Swiss Chalet is my absolute favourite! Just ask my family! As you’ll see in the online guest book photos...A group of us had an enjoyable lunch there in July 2008.  

Erin came across a letter, recently, that I had written to her Mom, from summer camp, when I was a little girl. Can you imagine? Auntie Anne had kept that letter for over 45 years!  

My most recent visit with Auntie Anne was on the 9th of June. These are a few of my recollections from that afternoon...It was a cool, rainy day, in her room, the curtains were open, window, too, the lights were on and Auntie Anne was out of bed. Her hair was brushed & she was wearing a very pretty pair of pajamas. As we talked, she ate a grilled cheese sandwich “sans crusts”, drank some tomato juice, ate a bowl of peaches & pineapple c/w whipped cream and sipped some milk. After being there for a while, it looked as though she was nodding off so...I helped her get comfortable, tucked her in and “Good-bye” was said! I cried on the way home, that day, not knowing that it would be our last “Good-bye!”  

She was more than an Aunt to me...Auntie Anne was, also, a very good friend & confidant! Always so easy to talk to...We could & would talk about anything and everything.  I’m going to miss our talks & visits ever so much!  These talks & visits always ended with an everlasting hug and an “I love you!”  

While, I may not be able to physically hug her anymore, I can still say “I love you, Auntie Anne!” She truly is our family treasure & will be in our hearts forever!

Wow! what a women..my evidence to this statement goes back to when i was a very young child super hero.

Traveling from the country to the MCfadden residence was excitedly anticipated. Why? they had the coolest TV, with a push Button remote control!Toys that were out of this world and an energy at their home that was always new and exciting (that more likely due to the fact that all the grown ups were about to have a little thing we all like to call, A PARTY)

Okay the important part was when i asked God Mother Anne if i could sit down and watch real live Bat man she would never say no and the weird thing is it was always on CRAZY!.that was the best.ha ha

My memories Of my deer sweet GodMother Anne are most from my childhood and leave me with a smile from ear to ear, this women was non stop energy, with a smile that filled your heart with happiness as soon as she cracked it,a voice that was unique to the ear and demanded a good listen,and a positivity  that left you feeling like you were the most important person in the room.

I learned allot from my Godmother, One was, never ask to look at pictures...Holy crap! sorry father ;)that women had allot of pictures. 

No really this is testament to a women who genuinely loved life to have taken that many pictures over the years..to want to capture the people she loved through a lens is truly amazing..i must say as a father of 2 wonderful children and fantastic friends i am capturing life through a lens.Thanks God Mother.

When I think of Auntie Anne, I think about what a wonderful Mother 
she was to her children, a very special Grandmother, a wonderful Sister to her siblings, a special Aunt to her nieces and nephews and a good friend to all who knew her.

She will always be remembered for the wonderful times we had at our family gatherings, whether it be Christmas at Gramma and Grampas, a bbq or a picnic. She always kept the party alive.
The time at our house when she put on her bathing suit when the kids were small and played in the sprinkler with them. (picture posted!).  The time when she made the "Wally Ball" out of her famous meatballs (which I have now inherited in the "Finbow" family!), or the time on Christmas Eve when she hadn't wrapped her Christmas presents yet  and Susan and I helped her to the wee hours of the morning!  She always spoke the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not.  I thought of her as a second Mother.
We will never forget you Auntie Anne, you will be with us in our hearts always and forever.  May you now rest in peace.
Have a blast in heaven with our other Angels, Grampa, Gramma, Aunt Jeannie, Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Louis.

When I think of My Auntie Anne I always think of fun and happiness. 

My Auntie has THE Best parties ever. My Auntie makes the best Swedish meatballs with little fancy toothpicks; and crust free sandwiches. My Auntie is THE Best dancer I have ever seen (in the whole wide world). And My Auntie has always been the one to bring our family together, again bringing so much fun, love and happiness into our family.  

Auntie Anne, I will miss everything about you.  But, I know in every fun, loving, happy moment I have in my life, you will always be there with me because that is who you are to me.

I love you always Auntie Anne!  Another party has just begun for you and I know for certain, you will never stop dancing!

I called her mother Anne. She was like a mother to me. Although I only knew her for the last 6 years of her life, but it was enough for me to see how loving and caring she was.  I know she is now in heaven looking down at all of her children and smilling.  We will miss you Mother Anne and may you rest in enternal peace.

My mother, my friend, my heart, I miss you more than I can express with words but you can read my heart now and always could. I can not believe that you are gone, I can not believe that I will not have another birthday with you, another Christmas, another anything. You will never ever be forgotten. I think back to my childhood and running to the bus stop to meet you; I couldn't wait for 5:30 to come. I remember hovering over the stove when you were making dinner to tell you what I wanted and didn't want and you would put your arm around me and smile. I remember you dressing me in my angel costume when I was very small, I remember you sitting in the galley when I was swimming and cheering me on at basketball games. I remember you standing by my side on my wedding day and holding my newborn son and kissing his nose. I will tell him about you giving him ice cream and cookies when you were in the hospital and how much you loved him. You fill my thoughts and my heart. Anne was an amazing person who was full of fun and excitement.  Through the toughest times she held herself with poise and strength, always thinking of her children.
