

Born February 18th 1966, April carried forward the traditions, stories and teachings of her people with grace and resilience. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, auntie, great- auntie and friend. Her life was a testament to strength, love and the deep connections she nurtured within her family and community.
April was known for her strength in the face of hardship, her unwavering commitment to her family and her dedication to protecting the language, stories and traditions of her ancestors. She carried knowledge passed down through generations and shared it freely, ensuring that her community's history and spirit will continue to thrive.
Whether through her work with children, an activist, crafts woman or in the quiet moments of tending to earth, guiding the young and standing up for what's just. April embodied the strength of her people. Her laughter, wisdom and presence will be deeply missed, but her teachings and legacy will endure.
She is survived by her son Lawrence Dostert, husband Larry Dostert, sisters Robin Brown and Trina Brown (Dan), nieces Marian Leveck Brown (Shaun) and Amanda Brown, great-nieces Kaitlynn Leveck Brown and Victoria Blair and her great-nephew Johnathan Leveck.
April also leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family who carry her memory forward. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Jessica Dostert, with whom she now shares eternal rest.
May she journey on with her ancestors, her spirit forever a light.
