My West Toronto partial rotary Geography teacher. Just learned of his sad passing. He reminded us kids - especially me - of Johnny Fever (WKRP in Cincinnati) and remembering his love of Hill Street Blues. Was one of the few teachers you come across worth remembering who made a difference. Rest in Peace Mr. Smith and thank you!

         Today Im thinking of the Smith Family as Mr. Smith would have had a big 75th Today 

       He was among My top 5 Teachers in My entire School career .

 Oct. 5th is International Teachers Day and Canada's official Teachers Day too. 

   Mr. Smith would be very happy to know Somebody recognizes this day .

so sad to hear of Barry passing.He was a good friend. I was with him when he bought his history of Scotland bracelet. We had a good time that day. I always enjoyed our get togethers.He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all now. Barry very much loved his family and talked about you all.He was proud of his children and grandchildren.I will truly miss him.

What a shock to hear of Barry's passing! I taught with Barry for many years at West Toronto......he was truly a gifted teacher. I will always remember the sharing of ideas and confidences, the parties at his house especially his 50th birthday party and his very dry sense of humour. My condolences to his children and his extended family!

We were so sorry to hear of Barry's passing.  He was a good neighbour for so many years and we will miss our many chats out on the front lawn.  Thinking of your whole family at this sad time.

We were very sorry to hear about Barry's death. We have many happy memories of the times we spent together as two young families . I met Barry when we first taught together at Agincourt Collegiate. He later taught with my husband, Lynn at North Toronto Collegiate.We will miss him. We are thinking of you at this difficult time.

Hi , I just heard about Barry Smith. I have not seen him in many years, but I was one of the fortunate ones, to have been taught by him. He was my homeroom teacher, and geography teacher at West Toronto Secondary. He was one of the reasons I too went into teaching. I am very sorry to hear of your loss, and he will truly be missed. My thoughts and condolences are with you and your family at this time.

 My thoughts are with "All" of You at this uneasy Time . I went to West Toronto from Sept'81-June'85 incl. and was in the Program Mr Smith taught in . Him + Mrs Bowers were the best 2 in the Program . 

   With many thanks to Mr. Smith loads of progress was accomplished in a short period of time .

         Among every great Educator "Once an Educator , ALWAYS an Educator " - I say . 

            Mr. Smith will be missed very heavily  by many including Me .
