It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernardo Domingos Ernesto, age 68, on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born in Murteira, Lamas Cadaval, Portugal, Bernardo lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep love for his family, and a strong connection to his roots.
Bernardo was the devoted husband of Cecilia, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to his daughter Kelly, who will miss him dearly. Known affectionately as "grand-paw," he also leaves behind his beloved canine companions, Pantufa and Brownie, who brought him endless joy.
An afternoon visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by an evening visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 1141 St Clair Ave West, Toronto, ON M6E1B1. Cremation will follow privately.
At a later date, Bernardo will be laid to rest with his family in his hometown of Murteira, Portugal, in accordance with his wishes.
He will be remembered always for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family.
