It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Husband Budimir Nikolic, who passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Scarborough, Ontario, at the age of 81. Born in Studena, Serbia. Budimir spent his early years in his hometown of Niš, Serbia. He also proudly served in the Yugoslavian military for 18 months and was stationed in Skopje, Macedonia during his late teens. Soon after finishing his military service, while working with the city’s water filtration system during the day, he enrolled himself in a night school program which earned him his Electronics Technicians Diploma. He then began working for the largest electronics and appliance manufacturing company in Niš, where he met the love of his life, Velika. Together, they immigrated to Canada with their firstborn in 1970. In Canada, Budimir and his family settled in Scarborough, Ontario where he landed his first job at Vienna Meats. He then worked at Bittner’s Fine Foods as a store manager. He eventually got a job at Four Seasons Hotel in downtown where he deservingly retired at the age of 60. He was known for his reliability, dedication, and was even awarded employee of the month several times.
Budimir was known for his warmth, generosity, kindness, and unwavering work ethic. He had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Budimir especially loved soccer and treasured time with family—especially with his grandchildren Jasmina, Marko, and Viktorija, who were the light of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Velika Nikolic, and his sons Zoran (Lette) and Sasa (Marina). He is also remembered by his brother Decimir Nikolic.
Budimir was predeceased by his father Bozidar, his mother Eva, and his eldest brother Randjel. Family and friends are invited to a viewing service on:
