Pat and I were saddened to learn of Catherine’s passing 
Catherine came to work for us The ECC Group personal financial advisors  shortly after her arrival back from Australia
It was a short interview We clicked immediately and was with us for many years 
She started as an assistant and graduated to an advisor with her own clients 
Catherine had a passion for the financial welfare of women Her mantra was Simone de Beauvoir quote women’s  Freedom starts with the purse This was the theme of her work and the articles she wrote in our newsletter  Her clients loved her and she developed many fellow female advisor friends working in the association on their behalf 
She also developed friends with our business friends We always knew where she was by her famous laugh 
Catherine was somewhat of a free spirit and had many of her own interests  She was often coming to work dressed to go to the theatre or musical event 
Many Fridays she came to work carrying a backpack with either  canoe tripping clothes or clothes for New York  See used to say New York is noisy edited ,people are rude but I love it 
She also used to say when you travel all you need is money and a tooth brush 
She often talked about her children in Australia and brought our children a boomerang back which we could never get to work 
We also spent time in Cuba with her sister a  fascinating look see
Catherine you were one of a kind and our lives were made better by having known you

I have always described grandma as an inspiration and I was very proud of being her grand daughter. She lived a very full life and i Ioved hearing all of the stories and memories she shared.
From a very young age my memories of grandma were letters from Canada to Australia telling of her adventures  (one time a letter was written on a piece of back) and her endless number of silver bracelets - a trait which I now wear everyday. 
My boys already share her sense of adventure and love of Canada - one I hope they continue to explore.

Some of my fondest memories of Grandma were when she visited Australia with her husband Norm. They took us to on a trip to one of Australia's most famous national parks, Kakadu. 

She was happy, generous and cheerful - all the things that a grandchild would want in their grandmother. 

Whilst we didn't see her often, the times that we did were deep and welcoming. 

We wish we could be there today with all of you to remember her together.

We love you Mum.  We can’t be with you   But we send our love with this song Amazing Grace. Which is what you wanted Peter to play. 
His Grace is amazing to all of us.

As a fellow resident at 40 Homewood Avenue, I had the pleasure of regularly meeting Catherine at our favourite place in the building - the pool. As a journalist who travels regularly for work, I was happy to spend time sharing where I had been and hear Catherine's stories from her past travels, our tradition after swimming laps. We would occasionally meet in the elevator or at the building entrance and make fun of the fact that we usually only saw each other at the pool's edge - and she always inquired where my recent travels had taken me. My sympathies to her beloved family and friends - she was a lovely, curious and kind person and the epitome of being a good neighbour.  Waheeda Harris

I'm unable to attend the service, but I wanted to share a memory of Catherine.  When I was a younger woman, just starting my career in financial planning, Catherine invited me to join a group of female financial professionals.  She was a founding member.  We gathered socially once or twice a year and it was an opportunity to find community in what was then, and is still, a male-dominated industry.   She was such a warm-hearted, cheerful person - she made everyone feel welcomed and important.  She'll be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

My deepest sympathy to Catherine's family and friends on her passing. 

I met Catherine in 1975, at the pool (naturally!) and we immediately became friends. I loved her indomitable spirit, her bright and curious personality so full of humour and lightness of being...and, of course, that wonderful laugh!

She was a beautiful person who was such an inspiration and I'm honoured to have known her. I last saw her in London ten years ago, which she said would be the last long trip she would be taking.  Now she's on her final journey soaring with the angels while we cherish incredible memories of an exceptional human. Rest in peace, Catherine! All my love, Marie
