Dear tonton,

I’m still in disbelief knowing that I will no longer get to see you, WhatsApp you or banter without over politics, life or learning from you about the history of our family and the Bakossi people. I’m sorry we didn’t spend more time together but I’m so grateful for the love we were both able to express to one another. I am still smiling and crying thinking of our last conversation and though you had a lot of questions about our Lord and Savior, I pray that you have now found rest in His Holy Love. I love you forever Pa’ Charly.

Charlie's character was that of a person who fought for justice and what he believe in. He would go out of his way to protect the weak and under-privileged. At the same time he would denounce and fight against injustice in all shapes and forms. 

Charlie did not hesitate to speak out to uncover what he identified as malpractices and wrongdoings, even if it mean fighting the good fight alone, all by himself. He was a man of integrity and of few words, who was all about action and putting your were your mouth is. Unfairness would make him act out and go out of his way, something he seldomly did... He was bold, strong and calm by nature  and he always stood up for what he believed in. Charlie was a true force of nature, immovable and unshakable, always ready to defend the oppressed, the vulnerable, the sick, the afflicted, the poor, the ostracized and marginalized ones amongst us! God bless your soul my mighty and beloved brother.

Charlie was the kind of man who left an impression quickly. Generous with what he had, direct in his speech, and loyal to the people he loved. Charlie would always say, “Tell it how it is,” and he lived by those words. He loved his family and held the bond with his sister and other siblings as one of the most important things in his life. Even though I did not have the chance to know him for many years, the kindness he showed, his frank laughter, and his readiness to give made it clear what kind of person he was.

Charlie taught us that generosity is not only about material giving but about time, honesty, and presence. I remember how Charlie very often stayed late to help known and unknown people. That was his generosity in action. He spoke plainly when it mattered, and in that plainness there was clarity and care. Let us honor him by being more courageous in our truth and more generous in our hands and hearts. To his sister, his presence was steady and warm; she carried his laughter home. Know that your brother’s love remains with you always. 

To the other siblings and all of us, may Charlie’s spirit remind us to act with generosity and to speak with courage.

Goodbye, Charlie. We will carry you with us every day until we meet again, by God’s grace.

Its too hard and unbelievable to write an eulogy of my eldest brother. The bond of brotherhood remained strong in my heart.

Though time and distance separated us, Pa Charly,  I'll cherish the memories we shared especially when you visited Cameroon though brief. 

Your presence may have been fleeting, but your impact on your siblings was profound. I pray our good Lord grant you perfect peace. You are loved

Dear Pa'a Charlie,

The last time I  saw you was when you made a surprised visit to mama in Buea about 2001. On this faithful day, I came for a weekend and it was a wonderful and beautiful experience meeting you as our Bush Fuller. You were a great man and a man of peace. You were so strong in your conviction about many aspect of life. You were so determined in keeping Canada your permanent home. Mama wish was for you to be laid closed to her in Buea. But as a man of firm decision, your will must be respected. May our beloved mother Mary intercede for you and all the departed souls in the family. We love you, but God loves you more.

A tribute to my beloved brother Charlie:

Your love for humanity and your dedication to making the world a better place will never be forgotten

Mama, our beloved mother, was the epitome of love and sacrifice. Charlie often reminisced about her unwavering support,  care and love, especially during his childhood struggles. 

Her unconditional love and devotion left an indelible mark on his heart. Even in her passing, Charlie felt her absence deeply, 
often crying out in grief, remembering how she would carry him on her back to seek treatment for his stomach ache, and her tireless efforts to ensure his well-being.

Mama was a strong, compassionate, dynamic and hard working woman who fought for justice and equality. Her legacy lives on through Charlie, who inherited her kindness, generosity, and passion for helping others.

Dad, our father, was a complex man with strengths and flaws. His desire for brave and courageous sons often led him to be stricter, inadvertently creating distance and pain for Charlie, his first child. I wish he could have shown more understanding and empathy, but I pray Charlie has found forgiveness in his heart for him.

Rest in peace, my dearest brother, Charlie, my beloved Mama and Papa. May your memories continue to inspire and guide us.

You may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten. I love you forever, brother. Adieu ! Till we meet again to part no more. 
May your soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in perfect peace...Amen.
Rest in peace, dear Charlie. I'll carry you in my heart always, and I'll make sure to honor your memory by living the life you would've wanted me to live.

My dear eldest brother, CHARLIE KENSAKE NZUBEPIE, 

As you make your last journey to meet your creator,
 I have no doubt it's a journey all of us have to make but yours was just too soon. Our hearts are heavily laden. We keep praying as the ancient words tell us; " He giveth, He taketh". 

You actually understand it as does a man and as a big brother, I have no doubt you are going to meet your creator and ancestors. It is a testimony to the fact that as we loved you, they did even more. We are going to miss your ever teasing and entertaining "Rock n Roll" dance. 
I have not forgotten that day you called me while I was in Germany trying to encourage me and your wish for me to join you. 

Fare thee well my beloved brother till we meet again.
