On the evening of June 27th, 2016, Cheryl passed peacefully at home, after a yearlong, courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family. Born November 23rd, 1961, she is the daughter of Patricia Hudson, Cheryl was 54 years young.
In a “west end girl meets east end boy” love story, she was married to George (Danny) Hueston, on December 30th, 1983 in Toronto, Ontario. Always putting her family first, she loved being a stay at home mother and wife.
She is survived by her husband Danny Hueston; 2 children, Robert Hueston and Emily Greenwood; her mother Patricia Hudson; 2 grandchildren Llewellyn and Daniel Greenwood; a brother Oliver (Teddy) Payne; a sister Tami McInnis; as well as countless uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick O’Brien.
Known as the “Patio Police”, you could always find her laughing with her friends, enjoying the sun on the patio at East York Restaurant, with Pepsi can in hand. Also known for her rendition of “These Boots Are Made for Walking”, she will be forever remembered for putting her boot (a high heel) through the plate glass window there.
At Cheryl’s request there will be no viewing. Services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 4 p.m. at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, located at 2570 Danforth Ave. Toronto Ontario (north-east corner of main and Danforth).
There could only be one place to hold her celebration of life after the service. East York Restaurant at 1039 Pape Avenue (just south of Cosburn, east side)
The family would love to thank all those who helped make her last days as special and comfortable as possible, including Linda Mackay, Bonnie Thornton, Marie Pinack, Dale Gagne and all her friends at East York Restaurant.
