I was sorry to hear about Connie’s passing.  I only met Connie two years ago during my walks in the area but she was always friendly.  We chatted about everyday things but mostly family and learned our parents knew each other from Italy.  I truly enjoyed every conversation we had and feel blessed to have known her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Connie through my husband Michael, who always spoke so highly of her and thought of her like another sister. Whenever my daughter and I saw Connie at family weddings, she always came to us with the warmest smile and a kindness that filled the room.

I have the most wonderful memories of Connie’s parents, Angelina and Vito, who have always been such kind and gracious people. It is clear that Connie carried those same beautiful qualities with her throughout her life. I will always and forever cherish Connie and be grateful for having known her for the blessing of having her be a part of my life and my family’s.

She was a beautiful soul, full of courage and unconditional love. Connie had a special way of reaching out, always showing care and support to those she loved. Her kindness touched everyone around her.

I’ll never forget the day of her and Peter’s wedding. Being a part of that monumental moment in their lives as their ring bearer was such an honor and a privilege. All these years later, to have Connie and Peter attend my own wedding, a full-circle moment that meant the world to me and my wife. Her presence was a blessing, and seeing her there reminded me again of how deeply she cared for the people in her life.

I am devastated to hear about the loss of beautiful Connie. 

I had the privilege of growing up knowing her. I vividly remember how much I admired her as a teacher: her passion for her profession instilled such positivity and excitement on what I would learn in future grade school years: anytime I think of Ancient Egypt, I think of Connie! 

I also remember her wedding day so clearly and how beautiful she looked- I was honoured she included our family to be part of her special day. Connie was a social butterfly – she loved connecting her different social groups, creating and fostering new friendships and sharing her personal experiences and even playing matchmaker! She genuinely wanted to help everyone she came in contact with. 

Connie was a warrior in the face of cancer. She was open and honest about her condition while striving to find a cure. Attending fundraising events with Connie really illustrated her commitment to positivity in the face of such adversity. 

I hope the Calamia and Gagliardi family can take comfort in knowing how incredible Connie was: a mother, wife, friend, teacher, confidant and a shining beacon of light. I am a better person, because I knew Connie.

We are extremely saddened by the news of Connie’s passing. She was so brave and fought like a soldier always trying to keep strong and positive.  She loved her parents, her precious family and siblings with all her heart and soul. I will miss her video calls during her morning walks and sharing stories about our families. She was a third cousin but felt so much closer. We send prayers for courage and loving hugs to our dear cousins. Rest peacefully cousin Connie. We are heartbroken over the loss of Connie; a beautiful soul we had the privilege of watching grow up. My wife and I have known her since she was a little girl. Our families go back decades. Connie and her family were dear friends of my wife and in-laws, and loving neighbors to my grandmother. They always looked out for her, and for that we’ll always be grateful.
We watched Connie grow into the incredible woman she became. Our eldest son was the ring bearer at her wedding day filled with so much love and joy. It’s incredibly hard to accept that she’s gone. Her strength and grace through her battle with such a cruel disease were truly inspiring.
No parent should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child. Our hearts go out to Angelina and Vito, to her siblings Maria and Joey, and especially to Peter and their children. We hope you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the many lives Connie touched so deeply.
She is at peace now, and her light will live on in all who knew and loved her.

What a blessing it was to have known you my whole life. 
We only lived a street apart, always at each other’s houses with our moms chatting away. Your mom even babysat me when we were little, that’s how close our families were.

You were like another sister to me. I loved teasing you, making you laugh, and scaring you just for fun.
