Dae Yul Doo of Toronto, Ontario, passed peacefully with medical assistance on August 4, 2025. He was born in Busan, South Korea, on February 24, 1954.
Yul was predeceased by his long-time friend and partner Jim Elliott, his parents, and a brother. He is survived by a sister and two brothers in Korea. Yul will be deeply missed by his best friend Dennis McKibbin (Toronto), Young Soo Ahn (Florida) and Reverend Hoon Kim and Insook Kim (Toronto). Special thanks to Mark and Jamie Fastidio for their care and support during Yul's brief illness.
Yul immigrated to Canada in the early 1980’s and enjoyed a career in picture framing and owned the Prints Charming Gallery. Yul was a passionate artist at heart. His paintings and photographs captured a range of emotions and spoke deeply to all who viewed his work.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
