Darleen was born in Toronto on July 30, 1935. She was a survivor. She was hit by a car, and survived. She choked in 2019 and despite what the doctors said she survived it. She loved to fish, but hated taking them off the hook. She was known for her laughter. Laughter was heard wherever she went (ask the ICU nurses who called her Lucy O’ball). Being with friends on the phone, her family and dancing the night away with her devoted husband of 55 years, brought her joy.
Over her lifetime, she worked at Canada wire, Bell Canada, Community Care east York, a mental institute, a placement agency for the elderly, a trucking company, and an investment broker just to name a few and they always asked her back.
Our thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and psw's who were there for Darleen over the past 5 years.
Funeral viewing will begin at noon on Sunday, July 13th with services starting promptly at 1:00 PM at the family funeral home Giffen-Mack and Trull at 2570 Danforth Avenue. Cremation to take place. There will be no interment at this time at Prospect Cemetery.
