Darrell passed away after many years of battling several health issues.
It helps the family in this time of sorrow, to know that Darrell is no longer in pain and can rest easy and is reunited with his son Ryan, as well as Teresa and Irene.
Darrell was the son of Chuck and Carol Able (both predeceased).
Darrell was also the oldest of 6 siblings Todd, Mellanie, Karen, Kevin (predeceased) and Rodney(predeceased) and the protector of them all. :-)
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Darrell loved life, family friends and food.
Darrell loved to joke around, both with his family and his friends. A treasured picture is of Darrell playing his saxophone, big afro and his trench coat. One of his favourite phrases was “Things happen when you party naked!”
Darrell loved music, all kinds, and before Siri and Alexa, you could always call Darrell and ask him who sang a song and who the group was :-)
He was a loyal friend to those who knew him and he could tell you where you lived and who was in your family. He loved to reminisce and remember the good times. He navigated Facebook the best he could as he stayed in touch with many of his friends.
Darrell also had a passion for cooking, spending time with friends and family, and eating good food.
Darrell also loved his job as a meat cutter at Chargill, as well as his numerous gigs as a doorman.
The immediate family met for a private service, something Darrell had prearranged, and cremation has taken place.
We will have a celebration of life for Darrell, hopefully sometime in June, if Covid allows for gatherings.
