Denise Roxanne Halley

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Roxanne Halley, who entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2025, at the age of 60. Denise was born on March 18, 1965, in Georgetown, Guyana, South America, to the late Carmen Diana Halley Butts and William Martin Butts.

Denise was a devoted mother to Adrian Halley and Samantha Halley, and a cherished grandmother to Angelo, Lovevida, Avian, and Ariella, who brought immense joy to her life. She was also a beloved sister to Valerie Huggett, Shena Hope, Sherman Moffatt, Noel Halley, Shelly Sanchez, Karen Chavez, Gary Jobe, and Shamane Grant.

Those who knew Denise will remember her as a woman of strength, kindness, and laughter. She was fun-loving and full of life, with a radiant smile that could brighten any room. Her quick wit and sense of humor brought joy to her family and friends, while her nurturing heart ensured that everyone around her felt cared for and loved.

Denise’s passions were simple yet profound — she loved dancing, singing, and watching musicals, and her joy for these things reflected her vibrant spirit. Whether through her music, her laughter, or the warmth she shared with her family, Denise had a gift for turning ordinary days into treasured memories.

She was not only a mother and grandmother but also a sister, daughter, aunt, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her love was unconditional, her kindness unwavering, and her strength an inspiration.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Denise’s light will continue to shine through the love she gave, the joy she spread, and the memories she left behind. Her absence leaves an aching void, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, siblings, and all those blessed to have shared in her life.

Denise will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.

A funeral service will occur Friday, August 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A committal service will occur Friday, August 22, 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM at Duffin Meadows Cemetery, 2505 Brock Rd N, N, Pickering, ON L1X 0K3.
