Dennis James Hughes

Suddenly, at home, Dennis James Hughes, 54, passed away in Toronto on June 15, 2017. Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Thomas Gerard Hughes and Marjorie M. E. Hughes (née Clarke). Dennis is survived by his twin brother Danny Hughes & Angie, brother Michael Hughes & Rosemary Attard, brother Terry Hughes, and sister Anne Shortell & Brad, and sister Clare Thompson & Andy Collins. Beloved uncle to Elizabeth, Jennifer and James Michael Hughes, James Daniel and Brianna Hughes, Theresa, Monica, Catherine, Emily, Allison, Julia and Fiona Shortell, and Adam Thompson. In addition, Dennis had a large extended family across Canada including many Clarke aunts and uncles and over 40 first cousins. Dennis will be remembered with much love and affection by all his family and many, many friends from Emery C.I., York University, the “Crock & Block family”, Il Fornello, The Rectory Café, Morton’s The Steakhouse, and many more.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at Rosar - Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel at 467 Sherbourne St, Toronto, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 PM on June 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 520 Sherbourne St, Toronto, ON M4X 1K8 Canada, with reception to follow immediately after the mass at the church.

Flowers are welcome; however if desired in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aphasia Institute (Aphasia is usually the lasting result of a stroke or brain injury - www.aphasia.ca)
