Founding Manager of Bleecker Street Co-operative Homes. Diane passed away on Friday, March 25th in the company of her partner, Ann Dion. A visionary in the Co-operative Housing movement, Diane’s strong social beliefs infused her work and accomplishments – including establishing Bleecker as the first co-op to priority-house persons living with HIV/ AIDS in 1991. More recently, Diane’s focus and passion turned to the needs of youth in the co-op and the immediate community. Ann will receive visitors at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home (467 Sherbourne Street) on Friday, April 1st – in the afternoon from 2-4 pm, and again in the evening from 6-8 pm. A quiet service will be held for close family and friends (by invitation) at the Necropolis Chapel (200 Winchester Street) on Saturday, April 2nd at 10 am. An open memorial and reception will be held in Bleecker Street Co-op’s Community Room (85 Bleecker Street) on Saturday, April 2nd at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Diane’s commitment to youth, memorial donations can be made to The Co-operative Housing Federation’s Charitable Fund (www.coophousing.com), and earmarked for the Diversity Scholarship Program.
