Died peacefully February 3, 2014 after a brief illness, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his parents William F. Franco and Mary (nee Ferguson) and his sister Norma Clarke (Rob). Lovingly remembered by his nieces Susan Black (late Jim) and Sandra Wagstaff (Wayne), many family members and friends. Special thanks to his friend Cathy Bui and her husband Thach whose love and care for him meant so much. Don will be remembered as an outstanding teacher, entrepreneur and as a passionate supporter of the NDP and LGBT community. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
Family and friends will be received at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2570 Danforth Ave, (at Main Subway), 416-698-3121 on Saturday, February 8th from 2 P.M. up until time of service at 4 P.M. in the Giffen-Mack Chapel.
