I lost one of the most important people to ever be in my life. Much more than a grandmother this woman stepped up to the plate and helped to raise me, she was also a best friend. The loss that myself and my family feel right now is so deep I cannot begin to imagine how this void will be filled. My grannykins was a strong lady though and she would want us all to be strong now. I wanted so badly to quit my art program in Italy and be with her in her final months but she wouldn't hear of it. She actually got angry that I even suggested it, because in the end she was so proud of me and wanted me to excel. So tonight I will sleep with your rosary under my pillow and travel home to honour your memory tomorrow. But you can be sure grannykins that I will be returning to Italy after and kicking butt, because thats what you would have wanted. Thanks for making my life so much richer and making my childhood a softer and warmer place.

I will always remember Aunt Helen with a lovely smile on her face and a great sense of humour and of fun!

She is now with all of her loved ones who have gone before her and, no doubt, is spreading good cheer among them all.

She will always be in our hearts.

Great & fun memories of mom. Sadly she will be missed but forever fondly she will be remembered. One thing for certain though...I challenge you to think of a memory of mom that doesn't get you smiling or breaking into laughter. Oh sure she had some rough times and incredible obstacles during her life but she always found a way to move forward in a positive way. She always looked for and found the good in people. You may not know but she use to make her own outdoor yard Christmas decorations out of plywood and paint them. Yes she made a full size Santa. she could also sew, knit and she use to like reading Agatha Christie novels. I can still hear her words, Bill stop making that face or it will stay like that. Lol. She actually did have eyes in the back of her head, yes I'm convinced because she saw everything I did when I was a kid. She was a loving mom and I will always remember her beautiful blue eyes, her burst of laughter when we chatted, and that she loved us all very much. Rest peacefully mom, love Bill

Dear Peter, Pat & Bill:  I have written in many guest books during the last couple of years. Each one is difficult, but I find this one particularly difficult.  In spite of having lived far apart over the years, I have always loved your Mom and remember how kind she was to me when I was just a young teenager on the farm in Woodbridge.  She gave me the privilege of looking after your late sister Violet who passed on as a young baby of 18 months of age.  As I was Violets babysitter all summer long while your Mom worked, it certainly hit my heartstrings when she died so  young.  Now your Mom's passing hits those same heartstrings.  Your Mom was a friend to me in the midst of a whole pile of boys (my dear brothers), and she taught me a few things to do like knitting, sewing, how to make macaroni & tomatoes which we all came to love.  We only got the standard meat, potatoes, veggies and gravy, how nice it was to try something different.  I still love macaroni & tomatoes.  Your Mom managed to keep us from getting sprayed by a skunk when I stopped dead in its' path & she quickly steered me in around about route. That was a close call, phew, phew. She stood up for me in many ways.  

I am  happy that we at least some contact on Facebook over the last couple of years had and we actually had a good conversation on the phone a couple of times.Quite a change from living on the farm & our only entertainment was through a battery powered radio controlled by my Dad.  How times have changed. 

As you all well know your Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Auntie, etc. whom I knew as Helen (but her actual name was Eleanor) was a very special person and a beacon of encouragement and champion for her children. She was the strong one.  Now she has passed that torch to you, keep it burning and keep loving one another.  

Unfortunately I cannot be with you for her final farewell but believe me I will be with  you in spirit and invite any one of you to come visit me if an when  you can.  I love you.  May God hold you in his everlasting arms and rest assured that your dear mother is at peace with Him.  Blessings.  Aunt June.
