Ella Green

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ella Gertrude Green on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 just 4 days short of her 92nd birthday. Beloved wife of the late Fred Green. Loving mother of Joyce (the late Edward), William (Judy), Freddie (Kim) and Paul (Tracy). Loving grandmother to Andrew, Greg, Karl, Keith, Rachelle , Eric and Alex. Great grandma to Reese. Sister to Wilfred (Mamie) and the late Jane Davis. Mom passed peacefully in the wee hours of the morning after a long struggle with a broken body but never did she give up the will to live. She was surrounded by the love of her family in the days before the end. Mom resided in Woodhaven Long Term Care Facility where she got the best of care, surrounded by a very loving staff. A special thanks to Margarita Yang for her devotion to Mom over these last two years. She was truly Mom’s angel on earth. Mom will be carried to her final resting place, beside Dad by her 6 loving grandsons.

“Sunset and the evening star

And one clear call for me.

And may there be no mourning of the bar

When I put out to sea.”

This was Dad’s favourite poem. Written by Alfred Lord Tennyson. It is engraved on his stone and will be shared by Mom. Together at last.
