He is survived by Luisa Cepparo, his loving wife of 65 years, and his three children, Marlene (Peter Hamilton), Frank (Cindy Cepparo), and Rita (Ken Wong). Nonno to five grandchildren: Luca Cepparo (Alexandra Stojic), Mark Cepparo (Jacqueline Di Renzo), Ryan Hamilton, Erica Wong and Nicholas Wong. He also leaves behind his energetic furball, Lola. He was predeceased by his parents, Francesco Cepparo and Jolanda Granziera, and his sister, Vanda Cepparo.
Ferruccio was born in Precenicco, along the Fiume Stella in his cherished Friuli, on October 18, 1931. He emigrated from Italy to Canada in 1954, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax on the SS Roma, and soon settled in Toronto. He met Luisa, the love of his life, and they married in 1960. He worked in construction, before moving into real estate. Ferruccio was smart, determined and the hardest worker any of us knew.
Ferruccio worked hard, but his family was the most important part of his life. He adored his three children and five grandchildren. He always loved, championed and mentored them. A relentless optimist with a great laugh and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he was always the life of the party and loved to dance.
A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Delmoro Funeral Home (61 Beverly Hills Drive). The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at 10 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church (2100 Jane Street, at Wilson), with entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank Ferruccio’s kind PSWs, Geegee Marie, Mary, Evelyn and Pamela, and the doctors and nurses at Humber River Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Ferruccio’s memory to the charity of your choice.
Duro duro, Papa.
