Frances and her husband, Henry, (who are affectionally known as Francka and Riko) celebrated their 62th Wedding Anniversary this past December 2022. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving brother and two sisters – Father France Zupančič, S.J. and Cvetka Krapeš in Slovenia and Kristina Sterle in Canada. After WWII, as a displaced refugee, she immigrated to Canada. She sponsored many Slovenian refugees who started new lives in Canada. She was a strong advocate for the preservation of the Slovenian language, heritage, and culture. For many years, Frances was an active member of the parish choir at Our Lady of Help Christians. Frances dedicated her life to supporting Slovenian missionaries around the world. She was the first to suggest that there should be a Slovenian Credit Union in Canada. Her many close family and friends will miss her lively and passionate conversations on a wide and varied range of topics.
