Teacher, Adventurer and a legend in his Community
Late of Homewood Avenue in Toronto, London, Ontario and Limerick, Ireland. Survived by his brother, Sean (Eileen); sister, Mary; sister-in-law, Sybil; and many nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by his parents, Bridget and John; brothers, Tom, Jimmie and Billy; and sisters, Bridget and Anne. Gerry died in hospital after a short illness.
Gerry was easy to spot at any gathering with his wide smile and hearty laugh. His fur coat and shillelagh helped also. Mr. Crowe was a memorable teacher, a world traveller, a vibrant member of Toronto’s Irish Community, a Mayor at the Irish Pavilion at Caravana, Irish Person of the Year 2006 and an actor with Toronto Irish Players. Gerry loved horses, horse racing, Limerick hurlers and he threw great parties. He was loyal to his church and to a galaxy of friends. His charitable work included establishing a home for mothers and children in India.
Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, 520 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.
