Giovanni Ragogna

Giovanni passed away peacefully at the Chartwell Scarlett Heights Retirement Residence in Etobicoke at the age of 91 with his wife and children by his side. Devoted and beloved husband of 62 years to Noris (Girardi). Proud father to Dario (Shelby), Debbi (Trent) and Sandro (Sabrina). An amazing and devoted nonno to Aiden, Braxton, Massimo and Matteo.

Giovanni was born on April 10, 1934 in Porcia, Pordenone, Italy to Cecilia (predeceased). Dear brother in law to the late Mary and Louis Girardi, Antoinette (late Corrado) Zanatta and Donella and Joe Gabriel. Brother to the late Tony Corazza (Elena). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews

Giovanni emigrated to Canada in 1955 and ended his career as a welder at Algoma Steel in Sault Ste Marie and retired in January 1999 after 34 years. In his younger days, he was a member of the Soo 48 bocce club, Fogular Furlan and the Marconi Club in Sault Ste Marie. He was happiest either sitting on his porch or puttering around his house; with a soft “ta ra-ra” always on his lips, he had a way of letting the world know he was content - no words needed, just a tune full of quiet joy.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, relatives and all who knew him.

The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support which is a testament to the kind of person our father was.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in the name of Giovanni Ragogna to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or St. Veronica Catholic Church in Sault Ste Marie where he was a lifelong parishioner.

Visitation will be held Friday October 10th, 2025 from 8:00-9:00am at the Delmoro Funeral Home (61 Beverly Hills Drive, Toronto On M3L 1A2) Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church at 10 am (1415 Royal York Road, Etobicoke On, M9P 3E7). Cremation to follow Privately.
