Giovanni Sacco

It is with unspeakable sadness that we announce the passing of Giovanni Sacco. Giovanni was born in Piano Lago/Mangone, Italy, on Christmas Eve, 1931, and registered on January 1, 1932, before coming to Canada in 1958. Giovanni passed away on August 24, 2024, with his children, Angelina Sacco-Fantauzzi and Antonio Sacco, at his bedside, holding his loving hands.

Giovanni will be reunited in heaven with his mother and father, Antonio Sacco and Angelina Salfi and his siblings, Lina Barone, Sisina De Rosa, Maria Carpino, and Pietro Sacco and his son-in-law, Paul Fantauzzi.

May the love of God’s loving arms wrap around him for eternity.

Giovanni will be remembered by his wife, Maria Sacco, wife/best friend/love of his life for 67 years; his children, Angie and Tony; Tony’s wife, Shari Lynne; his grandchildren, Amanda, Giovanni, Cristina, Gabriel and Isaiah, his brothers, Francesco and Aldo Sacco, his sisters, Lucia Garofalo and Rita Girimonte, their families and all his friends.

Visitation for Giovanni will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 2 to 4 PM & 6 to 8 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 1141 St Clair Ave West, Toronto, ON M6E1B1.

The Mass will occur Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11 am at St.Clares Church, 1118 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6E 3M6. Entombment will follow the Mass at Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6E 1C6.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.
