

Passed away peacefully on Monday June 20, 2016 in his 91st year. Hubert was born in Boulogne, France. He attended Dene Hollow School for the Deaf in England. His family moved to Toronto in 1936 and Hubert attended the Belleville School for the Deaf until his family moved to Ottawa. Hubert's artistic talents were discovered at a very young age, in 1944 and 1945 he won 1st place in an Ottawa – wide high school art competition.
Hubert worked for 37 years at Canada Decal as a sketcher and commercial artist. Hubert married Marie the love of his life, in 1962 and had three loving children Bill (Leslie), Paul (Kelly), and Sharon (Brian)
Hubert was a cherished grandfather of Connor, Emily, Evan, Trent, Aidan, and Shaun. Loving uncle of Greg. He is survived by his sister Ray, and predeceased by his brother Skeff. Hubert was a very generous man and family always came first. He loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, and enjoyed his travels with his large group of friends. Hubert was especially fond of the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf where he spent social time and had many celebrations. Lake of Bays also had a special place in his heart. Hubert knew all of the shop owners in his neighborhood and would knock on the windows and wave as he walked by each day. In his last few years he had wonderful care from his Doctor’s, Nurses and PSW’s all of whom were so kind and compassionate to him.
A visitation will be held at TRULL FUNERAL HOME “Danforth Chapel” 1111 Danforth Ave (East of Donlands) on Sunday June 26, 2016 from 2-4 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday June 27, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow after a brief reception at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Toronto. In Hubert’s honour the family has requested donations be sent to the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf.
